Sedgwick Club UK

The Truck itself will have a mixture of colourful displays and exciting hands-on exhibits. These include:

  • Drowning Britain: this exhibit shows how just a small rise in sea level can change the British coastline drastically (watch out Cambridgeshire!)
  • The Exploding Volcano: it really does erupt!
  • Continental Drift: move the continents around to various positions over the last 100 million years.
  • Earthquakes and more…
the time truck clock

The centrepiece of the Truck though is the huge geological clock that lives at the end of the Truck. The clock condenses the entire history of the Earth into 60 minutes (and we’re barely the last 30 seconds!)

The Truck is split into 4 sections, all based around the "Extremes" of geology:

  • Landscapes: the tallest, longest, deepest: including valleys, mountains both on Earth and on other planets, and how they come to be.
  • Catastrophes: natural disasters: includes meteorites, volcanoes, earthquakes, and mass-extinctions
  • Life: the largest, smallest and weirdest creatures who have walked the Earth
  • Climate: the driest, wettest and windiest places on Earth and other planets.
